Frequently Asked Question

What is a birth doula and what do you actually do?

A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, and the early postpartum period. I don’t replace your medical team — I work alongside them.

Do I need a doula if I already have a partner?

A doula supports both of you. Your partner knows you; I know birth. Together you make a stronger team — and your partner can rest, eat, or simply be present without feeling lost.

Do you support medicated births or C-sections?

Absolutely. I support all types of birth — epidurals, inductions, planned or emergency C-sections. My role adapts to whatever unfolds.

When should I reach out?

As early as you’d like. Many clients contact me in the second trimester. The earlier we connect, the more time we have to build trust before birth.

Do you work online?

Yes. I offer full online support for families across Europe who aren’t near Milan or Como.

What languages do you work in?

I support families in English, Ukrainian, Russian, and Italian.

Will you be available when I go into labour?

I’m on call from week 38. You contact me when labour begins and I stay with you continuously.

What if something doesn’t go as planned?

Birth is unpredictable. Part of what I do is help you stay grounded, informed, and able to make clear decisions whatever direction things take.

Are you certified?

I’m trained through DONA International and certification is currently in progress.
